Porcelain Veneers

Looking for a way to give yourself a more beautiful smile? At the office of Dr. Robert Burks, we offer cosmetic dental treatment that can give you the smile you’ve been dreaming of. If your teeth are chipped, cracked, or discolored, let us help you find a solution to restore your smile back to its optimal appearance. Veneers are one of the beautiful options that we provide.

What are Veneers?

Porcelain veneer.

Veneers are thin porcelain shells that change the look, shape and color of your  teeth. They’re capable of covering up dental imperfections while blending in with your natural teeth. Veneers are able to mask a variety of dental issues, including:

  • Chipped Teeth
  • Cracked Teeth
  • Broken Teeth
  • Misshapen Teeth
  • Worn Teeth
  • Discolored Teeth

It's important to note that not veneers may not work in all cases. For example, patients with large gaps, significantly misaligned teeth, or tooth decay will likely need other treatments to improve their oral health and overall appearance of their teeth.

Versatility of Porcelain Veneers

We can use veneers to improve any of the following characteristics of your teeth:

Porcelain veneers - before and after.
  • Color — Teeth can become stained by the foods and drinks we like, from smoking, and even normal aging. Veneers are available in numerous shades, from the most natural to the brightest Hollywood white.
  • Size & Shape — Teeth can become worn down from grinding habits, or may not have the shape or size you want to begin with. For example, some people consider rounder teeth more feminine and squarer teeth more masculine. Veneers can be shaped and sized in whichever way is most flattering to your face.
  • Alignment & Spacing — Veneers can be used to close small gaps between teeth or make slight corrections in alignment while improving tooth color and shape.

Caring for Your Veneers

One of the great things about veneers is that they require the same care that the rest of your teeth do. This care should consist of brushing a few times per day, flossing daily, and keeping up with your regular dental appointments. This will help remove dental plaque and boost the health of your gum tissues. It’s important for us to mention that while veneers are very tough, they may not always be able to withstand strong biting forces into very hard foods or objects. Also, grinding or clenching your teeth at night can be harmful to your veneers, which is why we advise you to get a custom-made night guard if you have such a habit.
