Meet Dr. Robert R. Burks, D.D.S., P.A.

Dr. Robert Burks has been creating Beautiful Smiles in Winter Springs since 1980. He has devoted his career to helping patients enjoy all the benefits of a healthy, beautiful smile. The art and science of dentistry continually evolve and Dr. Burks and his staff devote a great deal of time throughout the year to study all that dentistry has to offer. Dr. Burks completes over 100 hours of Continuing Education courses each year and is a member of the Seattle Dental Study Club.

Dr. Burks is proud to participate in the “Give Back a Smile” program offered through the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Through this program, volunteer dentists restore smiles to those who have suffered from physical abuse in the past. There are no words to describe how it feels to give someone a reason to smile again!

Dr. Burks is a graduate of Emory University Dental School in Atlanta, GA and completed his undergraduate studies at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL.

Active and Involved

Both Dr. Burks and his wife, Allison, have enjoyed a lifetime of service to their church and community. On his days off, you may find Dr. Burks providing dentistry to patients at the Homeless Shelter or the Dental Assistant program at the Vocational School, where he also serves as Treasurer.

Dr. Burks’ involvement in his church has included serving as a Lay Eucharistic Minister, Bible study class leader, Vestry member and Cursillo team member. He enjoys his role as a Board member for the Institute of Christian Studies through the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida.

Dr. Burks'hobbies include: staying fit, reading, building most anything, woodworking and his computer. In his spare time, you will find him remodeling the home that he and Allison share with their two miniature Dachshunds and several cats.

You will notice how well Dr. Burks and his team work together. That is because of the long-term commitment his staff members have made to the practice. Like Dr. Burks, the team is made up of individuals who have built their careers in the dental field.

Our Office Team can help you every step of the way! Peggy is the first one to answer our phone when you call, but Donna and Holly are always available to assist you too. Whether you need to set up a Payment Plan for your treatment, or need help sorting out your dental insurance benefits, Peggy, Donna and Holly will help you with whatever you need.

Peggy is our Administrative Assistant. Peggy joined our team in 2004. She began her dental career in 1988 as a Dental Assitant. Her talents allow her to care for our patients with the business aspects of the office as well as assisting Dr. Burks chairside.

Donna is our Office Coordinator. She has been a member of our staff since 2000 and was actually one of our patients before joining our team. She knew firsthand how we care for our patients and wanted to be a part of our staff.

Holly is our Practice Coordinator. She started her dental career in our office in 1986. After several moves, Holly returned to our practice in 1998. She had seen the quality of care and the caring that we offer to our patients and wanted to become a part of that team again. We are glad that she did.

Our Chairside Dental Assistants really care about you
Our Chairside Dental Assistant, Jan, has worked for Dr. Burks since 1996 and has been in dentistry since 1983. She makes every effort to ensure our patient’s visits are as comfortable and pleasant as possible. She is also responsible for our Zoom PLUS Cosmetic Whitening program.

Cristy and Carrie are our Gentle Hygienists
Our patients consistently tell us how much they appreciate our gentle Hygienists!

Cristy joined our team in 2006 and is our Full Time Dental Hygienist. She started her dental career in 1988 as a Dental Assistant for an orthodontic practice. She realized her dream of becoming a Dental Hygienist when she graduated from school in 2003. Cristy has a wealth of knowledge and is terrific with our patients.

Carrie started her Dental Hygiene career with one of our favorite Periodontal offices in the area. Carrie’s father is an orthodontist in Kissimmee and she is no stranger to dentistry! Although Carrie joined our team in 2008, it seems like she’s been part of our team forever!
