"Working with the team of caring people that I do, we combine technology with a gentle human touch to empower and educate our patient family to promote healthier lives in our community. WE LOVE WHAT WE DO!"
– Dr. Burks
Dr. Burks is proud to participate in the Give Back a Smile program offered through the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the Donated Dental Services through the Dental Lifeline Network. Through these programs, volunteer dentists restore smiles to those who have suffered from dental neglect, either from physical abuse in the past or from illnesses that have kept them from receiving needed dental care. There are no words to describe how it feels to give someone a reason to smile again!
He also participates in the Donated Dental Services program offered though the National Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicapped. This program provides needed dental services to those in our community who, because of physical handicaps, have not had access to dental care in the past.
Dr. Burks is a graduate from the Emory University Dental School in Atlanta, Georgia and completed his undergraduate studies in biology and chemistry at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida.
Active and Involved
Both Dr. Burks and his wife, Allison, have enjoyed a lifetime of service to their church and community. On his days off, you may find Dr. Burks providing dentistry to patients at the homeless shelter or at the Dental Assistant Program at the Vocational School, where he also serves as Treasurer.
His favorite past-time is being "Poppy" for his four young grandchildren: Reagan, Noah, Caleb and Riley. His other hobbies include staying fit, reading, building almost anything, woodworking, wood lathe turning, photography and his computer. In his spare time, you will find him remodeling the home that he and Allison share with a miniature Dachshund, Maddie; two Bichon Frises, Murphy and Toby; and a cat, Chloe.
